Movies
I am quite a movie buff. Any of these three languages: English, Kannada and Hindi (well, I have watched Amelie; does that count? (great movie anyway)). I will keep updating this page with recommendations, reviews and my to-see-list.
Here are a few favorites.
- 12 Angry Men: My all time favorite (as of now), the best characterization, superb acting, I am out of hyperbole on this one. I love Juror #9.
- Pulp Fiction: Read Tejaswi's opinions on Pulp Fiction.
- The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: For Tuco, for the smoke before death scene, for Ecstatcy of Gold, and for Trio.
- Snatch: I love Pulp Fiction, and Sol, Vinnie, BrickTop, Turkish, Mickey, Avi, and the inimitable Bullet Tooth Tony make this a hilarious romp.
- A Few Good Men: A great movie with subtle conscience conflicts.
- Se7en: Subtle and chilling horror at its best.
- The Shawshank Redemption: A classic tale of hope and friendship....and great filmmaking.
- Annie Hall: Because, er....we are all here for the eggs.
- Kill Bill Vol. 2: You ain't kidding baby.
- Gandhi: I keep wondering... how can one man have such personal strength.
- American Beauty: American Suburbia....and Kevin Spacey....and sublime tragedy.
- LA Confidential: Rollo Tomassi, he is the man.
- Network: For Max Schumacher's dialogues on 'cocksmanship' and love.
- Before Sunrise - Before Sunset: These remain the best of the "sweet" romantic movies.
Of course, there are quite a few more that I have to talk about, and there is the movie review page that will be coming up shortly. But, the most important to-be-added-content is about all the great Hindi and Kannada movies that I love. You can expect a few essays to be added to this section quite soon. Till then....I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.....
