Abstract

Equations play a prominent role in developing theories and formulating problems. Most scientists find it easier to work with equations, rather than text documents or keywords. The problem of processing large number of equations, facilitation of search on equations and indexing equations is not trivial. In this paper, we propose an architecture to manage, store and process equations. We define various equation similarity measures, propose various preliminary search and index techniques. A toolkit has been built to process equations and enable users to browse and search equations.
