Restart routine takes as input the LSN of the master record which contains the pointer to the begin-chkpt record of the last complete checkpoint taken before site failure or shutdown. This routine invokes the routines for the analysis pass , redo pass and undo pass in that order. The buffer pool dirty pages table is updated appropriately. At the end , a checkpoint is taken.
