Mumbai navigator makes several kinds of approximations in estimating the time taken for a journey:
  1. While the time for the first bus/train to arrive is included in the estimate, it is assumed that you will be able to get into the first bus/train that arrives. If the bus typically arrives full and you are not able to get in, the actual journey time will be more.
  2. For each bus/train, Mumbai Navigator has only a single estimate of how long it takes for the first bus/train to arrive. At non-peak hours, the bus/train frequencies will be less, and again the actual journey time might be longer.
  3. If several buses have a bus stop with the same name on their routes, Mumbai Navigator assume that they stop at the same stop, and furthermore, the physical shed is the same. This is clearly not true for bus stops such as Khodadad Circle, where stops with the same name are on opposite sides of the circle, and thus quite far. In this case the plans given may not be directly useful since Mumbai Navigator will assume you can get into any bus that arrives at the bus stop, while in reality the sheds at which the buses arrive might be far apart.
  4. In some cases Mumbai Navigator might not know that a bus stop and a train station are within walking distance. In such cases good plans may not get generated. Please inform us if you spot such cases.
  5. The bus route data of Mumbai Navigator is about 3-4 year old.
Please note further that the estimates given by Mumbai Navigator are statistical, and will not hold exactly on every individual journey.
