Virtualization technology enabled cloud computing has been making rapid strides in provisioning, usage and management of large-scale systems. As popularity and applications of these techniques increase, there is increasing interest in the area, both from the academic research community and the industry.
As part of this workshop (WIVCC 2012) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, we aim to bring together different research communities (involving student/faculty/industry) to discuss/present a set of interesting directions in this area. A couple of keynote talks and a set of student-talks will cover the overall problem area and research on specific problem instances.
The idea is to expose student and faculty community to both broad and specific aspects of the research directions. The event will also provide a platform for interactions and discussions between people involved in cloud computing research.
