- Elegant and deep ``problem solving'' skills.
- Expertise in algorithmic thinking and algorithm design.
- Fairly sophisticated programming skills including:
- Clear (mathematical/formal) specification of the problem.
- Design and analysis of an algorithm to solve the problem.
- Coding the algorithm in Fortran (and C)
- Testing and debugging your code.
- Bonus: Reasoning about and Verification of your code.
