Frequently Asked Questions

So CSEA is all about the CSE department. Has it got anything to do with other departments on the campus?

Yes. CSEA, though consisting of people from the CSE department and working for ameliorating the interaction between them, organises many inter-departmental events round the year. We have "freshies' fundamentals' session" for the new first year batch (and that is open to all department freshies), one or two workshops in an academic year - do refer to our archives for the Internet Technology Workshop and Linux sessions & finally an online programming contest called the C-On-Test. All these activities are open to people from all the departments. We also co-ordinate with other IIT events like the Tech GC and Techfest during their schedules.

What does the association do apart from technical sessions and workshops?

Lots! The CSEA has an equal job of keeping the department alive during the semester. We organise welcome functions for the new batches, valedictory functions for the leaving batch and some sports events (though the later do not take place with frequency). Also, every year the CSEA takes the department students for a TREK. The locale chosen is a place close to IIT. Professors from the department also accompany us on the climb (follow the pictures tab to view our collection of pictures from the last trek, we were on the Duke\'s nose)

Does the CSEA help people in publishing technical papers?

No. We neither hold a conference nor interact with one regularly. We are just an association of/by/for the CSE people.
