Ph.D. position

Project Description:

Detailed triangle based rendering becomes difficult when there are a large number of points. The purpose of this project is to explore an alternative called Point-Based Rendering Systems when coupled with Structure from Motion techniques. Prior work in this area has been recently published by students from IIT Bombay (Candidates are urged to lookup google scholar to find out more about this project). Educational background:

A masters degree in Computer Science or related field with experience in the areas of Computer Vision or Computer Graphics is desirable. Knowledge of OpenGL is necessary. A strong background in Mathematics is recommended. A GATE score is strongly recommended.

Applying:

Apply by end October to the Ph.D. admissions program for the Spring Season. Apply by end March for admission to the Fall Admissions.

Scholarship:

Research Scholars in the Ph.D. program supported by the Institute receive about Rs. 14000 p.m. plus annual increments as decided by the GoI.

Research Scholars supported on this project will enjoy similar amounts with the ability for the scholarship to be topped up based on qualifications and experience. All researchers on this project will supported for travel to conferences. This particular project is supported by Indo-Swiss and hence the project may involve travel to Lausanne. Travel and other expenses will be covered as a part of the project and has already been budgeted

Other avenue for extra stipend include the opportunity to compete for handsome fellowships from IBM, Microsoft, TCS, and Infosys.
