The third biennial Workshop on Computer Vision, Graphics, and Image Processing(WCVGIP) will be held at Hyderabad, India, preceeding the Asian Conference on Computer Vision ACCV-2006. Earlier WCVGIP-2002 was organized at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai in February 2002, and WCVGIP-2004 at Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior in February 2004. IUPRAI, the Indian chapter of IAPR, is the co-ordinating association for the workshop.

WCVGIP will bring together researchers working in the broad areas of Computer Vision, Graphics, Image Processing and related fields. The goal of the workshop is to promote community-wide discussion of ideas that will influence and foster continued research in the field. The workshop will provide a venue for researchers to present new ideas, practical considerations and novel applications of these areas.

WCVGIP-2006 is being organised in conjunction with ACCV-2006. The Asian Conference on Computer Vision is the most prestigious conference in the Asian continent in the field of Computer Vision and Image Processing. Many reputed researchers in these areas, from across the world will be participating in ACCV-2006. The participants of WCVGIP-2006 will have the added benefit of attending ACCV-2006, by registering jointly for WCVGIP-2006 and ACCV-2006.

Participation in WCVGIP-2006 is restricted to Indian residents only.
