Future Plan of Expansion - immediate requirements
A Charitable Hospital is a living entity with a social purpose and, therefore, it requires not only constant financial sustenance for its day-to-day expenses but for its regular modernisation and upgradation as well. In fact, health of the People is an index of the level of development of a country and attainment of optimum health is the rightful desire of every individual. Accordingly, the Sevashrama has to keep pace with the modern development that is taking place in the medical field and equip itself progressively to meet the growing demand for quality healthcare delivery system.
Hardwar, besides being a holy city of great repute, is also a gateway to the Himalayas and attracts round the year a lot of tourist/pilgrims, who require medical help. The entire area, inside as well as at the foot of these towering hills, remains bereft of medical facilities, let alone the modern ones. The inhabitant of this large area of about 150 sq km round Hardwar, comprising of towns (like Rishikesh, Bijnor, Laksar, Muzzaffarpur etc) and villages of meagre resources, depend on the Sevashrama for medical help.
Therefore, the Sevashrama proposes to undertake the following projects for the well being of these hapless people and, in the absence of government or corpus funding, solicits donation from the generous public:- Blood Bank - a substantial amount of donation is already in the pipeline and this project might be undertaken shortly.
- Medicines and Dialysis Unit- purchase and installation
- C T Scan Machine- purchase and installation
- Construction of nurses' training school and trainees hostel
- A New Block to house-
- construction of Eye, Orthopaedic Departments
- Expansion of the N.O.P.D. building
The N.O.P.D. building has much scope for expansion, which is very necessary for growing demand of more and better medical facilities. Specially, the Mother and child care unit needs immediate attention for its better arrangement. The Special Ward remains fully booked and there is urgent requirement of creating such Private Wards to meet the growing need. These paying rooms will also generate some funds, much needed for providing free treatment to the poor and and hiking the staff salary. Briefly, we require substantial funds for all these schemes.
