Vasudeva Vasudeva in Hinduism was the son of Śũrasena , of the Yadava dynasty . His sister Kunti was married to Pandu . He married Devaki , the sister of Kamsa , and he was the father of Krishna and his sister Subhadra by her . He also took a second wife , Rohini , who bore his eldest son , Balarama . According to some accounts he also had several other children by other wives . The name Vāsudeva , to be interpreted as 'descendant of Vasudeva' , is another name for Krishna .
