    <FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans serif" size="2" color="#000000">I went back to Hazard for the weekend and happened to see the interior of the restaurant that now inhabits the space
    formerly occupied by Don's Restaurant and Watson's.</FONT>
    </P>


    <P>
    <FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans serif" size="2" color="#000000">That was there when I was a kid in the 60's anyway. I started thinking about the truly fabulous place Don's was. I think that the
    floors were plain wood. I'm fuzzy on that, but I can visualize the rest of it. The stools were my favorite place to sit (although they were usually occupied!) I can remember going there when I was so
    small that I thought the stools were very scary and high. The french fries were my favorite treat, crinkly and fried to just the right color. It was even more fun watching the cook at the grill. I
    can remember sitting and thinking how I'd like my chance at flipping hamburgers.</FONT>
    </P>


    <P>
    <FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans serif" size="2" color="#000000">Don's was historic. The history of Hazard was in the pictures on the walls. My father and his friends were always ready to tell the
    story of each picture (again and again). It was at Don's, not at school, that I learned of Oliver Hazard Perry and his link to the area. I can still picture Zeta Fouts there at the counter, always
    with a smiling welcome.</FONT>
    </P>

    <FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans serif" size="2" color="#000000">When I revisit this website, I can close my eyes and be again a school kid dropping by Don's after school for a plate of fries and a
    soda!
