October 6 7, 2007

Saturday: The day started with breeze from the South at 12-14 knots. This breeze and the moderate swell allowed for some great Windward/Leeward twice around courses. With the threat of scattered thunder storms, the Race Committee called a delay of game between races to let one meekly pass to the North leaving behind a light breeze from the NW which allowed us to finish out the set and call it a day.

Sunday: Day two started off with a light 5-7 knot breeze hailing from the North. Around 2:30, a shifty North to Northwest to West breeze challenged the completion of sailing Windward/Leeward twice around courses and Windward/Leeward finish upwind courses until 3:00 when the Lake glassed over and was called a regatta.

Saturday: Another Boatshow weekend in Annapolis! The day started slow with a delay onshore until 11:30 am when the breeze filled in. We were all treated with a 5-10 kt SE-SW Breeze. 10 Races were sailed in each division on a trapezoid Course. 3 Protests were filled resulting in DSQ's. Nice Job by PRO Ali Sharp and the Midshipman for running races!

Sunday: We started the day with a light NW Breeze and got in one race in each division. We then waited on shore for a seabreeze to fill but it never filled enough for quality racing. The regatta was called at 2:30pm.

MCSA Singlehanded Championships

Michigan State University

October 13-14, 2007

After waiting through the week before, the weather finally cleared up allowing a great weekend of racing on Lake Michigan. Saturday seven races were sailed in 10-15 knot westerly breezes with 1-2 foot waves. Sunday the conditions calmed down to 5-10 out of the east. Throughout the racing was very close and provided a very competitive regatta. Congratulations to Ryan Lashaway, Tod Reynolds, Kevin Campbell, Lauren Knoles, and Christine Porter for moving on to the ICSA Singlehanded Championships to be sailed in Seattle.

October 13-14, 2007

Saturday: The racing was sailed in the N cove and completed 12 races in each division. In the morning the winds were blowing from the NW 8-12 knots. The dinghies were on one course sailing gold cups and the lasers/radials on another course sailing windward-leewards, twice around with a gate.
