[Description from notes by John Adkins]

National Public Radio reporter Scott Simon profiled John Records Landecker during his show on WLS in the summer of 1978. This piece was a portion of a report on Chicago radio from All Things Considered. The exact date is unknown.

In addition to the documentary-style prose offered by Simon and Landecker's answers to his questions, this aircheck includes a dynamite, short, top-of-the-hour jingle, after which I keep wanting Landecker to match the beats of the intro to Bennie And The Jets with something like, "nine ... oh ... clock ... in the city!" (But that would be too "Drake", wouldn't it?)

There's almost nothing above 5Khz here; the audio quality was originally at the
mercy of the then-standard AT&T 5Khz network line (for those of us who
remember radio network feeds in the days before satellites.)
