<H5>Public Workshops</H5>
<P>Over the years the Suffolk Craft Society has run day workshops during IPART, the summer arts festival held by the Ipswich Borough Council. Led by society members, up to 15 different workshops were offered by experienced tutors suitable for absolute beginners and those with more experience and&nbsp;of all ages. All basic materials were provided and participants were advised to wear old clothes as this was to be a hands on experience. With group sizes of 8 to 10 participants in each workshop pre booking was essential.</P>
<P>Examples of the Workshops are listed below. The society continues to seek partnerships with other organisations to implement and develop similar workshop programs. <A href="&#109;&#97;&#105;&#108;&#116;&#111;&#58;&#98;&#108;&#117;&#101;&#107;&#105;&#110;&#103;&#99;&#97;&#114;&#110;&#105;&#118;&#97;&#108;&#64;&#121;&#97;&#104;&#111;&#111;&#46;&#99;&#111;&#46;&#117;&#107;">&#67;&#111;&#110;&#116;&#97;&#99;&#116;</A> the education officer for further information.</P>
<P><B>Printmaking with Clare Curtis<BR></B>Enjoy learning lino and wood cutting and then printing your own greeting cards to send to friends and family. 
<P></P>
<P><B>Experimental large scale prints with Annabel Ridley<BR></B>Learn to make and print your own blocks. Combine these prints with other printed papers such as tickets, numbers, newsprint and anything else of personal interest. </P>
<P><B>Enamelled jewellery with Sheila McDonald</B> <BR>Create an individual piece of jewellery using enamel on copper and take home a delightful memento of your day.</P>
<P><B>Monoprinting with Val Armstrong<BR></B>Explore a range of techniques and colours, using the most basic materials, to create a selection of prints.</P>
<P><B>Fabric printing with Jacky Linney<BR></B>Print! Paint! Decorate! Bring your own T-shirts, table-cloths, pillow-cases or anything that needs colour and take home something stunning!</P>
<P><B>Ceramics with Sue Bruce<BR></B>Create a highly individual ceramic clock, mirror or picture frame using various techniques to add texture and colour to your work. </P>
<P><B>Ceramics with Alice Palser<BR></B>Use rolls of red clay and an ancient method called press-moulding to make animals, birds and people<BR>&nbsp;<BR><B>Memory Pockets with Mary Crehan</B> <BR>Create a small hanging using photo transfer, bonding, printing and stitching (hand or machine). Bring with you objects, photographs or anything else that reminds you of the past. </P>
<P><B>Spinning and weaving with Mary Jane Toulson</B> <BR>Spend a relaxing morning learning to 'spin a yarn' using both spindles and spinning wheels. During the afternoon try weaving 'a rich tapestry of life' and take home your endeavours.</P>
<P><B>Make jewellery with Michel Cereso </B><BR>Using silver wire and beads, design and make some jewellery for yourself or for gifts. Bring with you anything personal you may wish to incorporate into the design.</P>
<P><B>Making books with Jenny Nutbeem</B><BR>Decorate paper with Japanese marbling and dip-dyeing techniques to make a variety of beautiful books, bound in the Japanese style.</P>
<P><B>Calligraphy with Chris Robinson</B><BR>Write in colour using the Foundational Calligraphic Alphabet. Ideal for beginners. Left-handers welcome. </P>
<P><B>Stained glass with Paquita Norris<BR></B>Make a dazzling panel using the copper foil method as pioneered by Louis Tiffany. </P>
<P><B>Mosaic with Lindsay Rae Rollett </B><BR>Create a decorative and colourful panel using a variety of materials such as ceramics, glass or even pebbles and buttons. Add things you bring along yourself.</FONT></B></P></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></P>
