Checkpoints During Restart

• Checkpoint during analysis/redo/undo pass

  • reduces work in case of crash/restart during recovery
    • (why is Mohan so worried about this!)
  • can also flush pages during redo pass
    • RecLSN in dirty page table set to current last-processed-record
