The goal of SIGDATA is to support the growth of research in the areas of data and information management in India, by organizing seminars, conferences, workshops, and lecture series for the benefit of researchers, professionals, students, and teachers.

Proposed Activities

The long running International Conference on Management of Data (COMAD) has been the premier venue of research in the area of data and information management. COMAD has been supported by the Computer Society of India (CSI), and, since 2009 is being managed by CSI SIGDATA. SIGDATA also supports other activities such as summer/winter schools and workshops aimed at introducing students to research in data and information management. SIGDATA can also act as a means for networking between industry and academia, and to help academia identify problems that have the potential for significant impact.
