∙ Systems Principles as the structure of knowledge: Open and feedback systems
Linear chain causality vs. feedback systems
∙ Feedback Systems Thinking/Causal Loop Diagrams: Causality, Causal Chains, Causal Loop Diagrams, link polarities, loop polarities,
Positive and Negative feedback loops
1st order and 2nd order loops
∙ Stock and Flow: notion of stock, rate of change, conservation of stock, system boundary - sources and sinks for flows
Computer Simulation: Introduction to Vensim
Discrete Time simulations. Acyclic models
Fundamental modes of dynamic behavior: Exponential growth, Goal seeking, S-shaped
Model Testing, Calibration and Behavior Analysis
Multiple case studies: (will vary with offerings)
