Title: Towards Data Driven Approaches for Energy Demand Prediction
Dr. Nivethitha Somu, Dept. of CSE, IIT Bombay
Date & Time: October 25, 2018 17:00
Venue: Room no. 109, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, 01st Floor, New CSE/CC Building
Buildings have become the essential part of our day-to-day life. People spend a considerable amount of time in buildings and utilize a wide range of devices and services for their comfort which leads to high energy consumption profiles. Therefore, improving the energy efficiency of buildings through energy consumption prediction has become a primary global concern to achieve energy conservation and to reduce environmental impacts. Further, energy consumption prediction improves the energy efficiency since it plays a significant role in implementing several energy efficient measures such as demand response program, fault detection and diagnosis and energy benchmarking. In this talk, we will discuss about the impact of artificial intelligence techniques on the design of efficient energy demand prediction models for accurate long term, mid term, and short term predictions.
