The coupling of low-cost embedded digital computer technology, high-performance server farms and high-bandwidth connectivity has enabled information dissemination to the masses via a variety of gadgets limited only by creativity & imagination. This talk explores the convergence of gaming & entertainment to facilitate the delivery of a superior near real-time multimedia experience to the consumer.
Whereas the underlying hardware and software is well understood by a large cadre of techno-geeks. However, the new challenge is for these techno-savvy individuals to step outside their computing oriented mind-set, think "outside-the-box" and integrate emerging multi-disciplinary concepts in human psychology and sociology into their product designs systematically to produce a more appealing and pleasing experience for their human audience.
More questions than answers will be provided to the curious individual in the domain of creating a more compelling entertaining experience in a cost-effective manner for the masses.
Speaker Profile:
Jayant Karmarkar has a B.Tech. (IITB-EE), a Ph.D. from Univ. of Santa Clara and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Univ. of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has delivered turn-key real-time DSP systems to industrial sponsors incorporating novel algorithms. He has written several articles including one for the layperson on the recent US-India N-Treaty ramifications.
He is currently exploring a start-up in the IITB incubator facility (SINE) requiring multi-disciplinary expertise, with an EECS core. He can be contacted at Jay@i-c-i.com.
