Date & Time: January 2, 2020 14:15
Venue: Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Room No. 109, 01st Floor, New CSE/CC Building
In this informal talk, I'll give a brief overview of quantum computing and its intersection with theoretical computer science. I'm happy to talk in more depth about whatever the audience is interested in. Please come with your questions about quantum computing (about the future of quantum computing, its impact on society, recent breakthroughs, research themes, the job market, or whatever you want to know more about).
Speaker Profile:
Robin Kothari is currently a Senior Researcher at Microsoft Quantum in Redmond, WA. He is a theoretical computer scientist working in quantum algorithms and complexity theory. He was a postdoctoral associate at the Center for Theoretical Physics at MIT. He received an M.Math and Ph.D. at the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science and Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo. Before this he received a B.Tech at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
