Title: Imaging Research at MIT Media Lab
Prof. Ramesh Raskar, Media Lab, MIT
Date & Time: March 5, 2009 14:00
Venue: Conference Room, 01st floor, ā€˜Cā€™ Block, Kanwal Rekhi Building
I will review some of the ongoing research in graphics, computer vision, HCI and displays at MIT Media Lab. Since the 1980's, MIT Media Lab has pioneered several research areas including EigenFaces, Tangible Interfaces and Holographic displays. After a brief review, I will focus on Computational Photography. New results show that, by blocking light over time or space, we can preserve more details about the scene in the recorded single photograph. I will show several applications and describe emerging techniques to recover scene parameters from coded photographs.
