MapReduce, with its open source implementation Hadoop, is among the most frequently used parallel computing paradigm today. The two sessions (10.30 a.m. on Monday and 11.30 a.m. on Tuesday) will aim to dive deeper into MapReduce programming paradigm, technical architecture of Hadoop Distributed FileSystem and the MapReduce framework. We will look into basic and advanced use cases of large scale data processing and how Hadoop can be leveraged for these uses cases. I will also talk about scalability challenges with the current system and how Hadoop Architecture (Hadoop.Next) is evolving to address these challenges.
