Complex Event Processing (CEP) products are crossing the adoption chasm. Governments, financial services enterprises were the early adopters used CEP to address niche use cases. The situation is changing. Mainstream enterprises are fast adopting this technology to solve wide ranging business problems and manage data growth intelligently in near real time. Informatica has a suite of CEP products and solutions used by enterprises across many verticals. This talk primarily focuses on the following. • Changing face of CEP use cases: • IT, applications - Monitoring of data migration, processing applications. Hardware monitoring. Proactive Sales Force management. • Business operations - Credit card fraud detection. In-session gaming. Railway assets management • Other - National intelligence. Public safety • Architectural choices and problem areas: • Rule authoring languages and expressivity • Event processing - processing units setup, tear down and optimizations • Achieving ACID properties during deployment in distributed CEP runtime • Meeting different SLA requirement in distributed CEP runtime
Speaker Profile:
Venkat Amirisetty is Director Engg at Informatica, heading CEP R&D group based in Bangalore. Prior to Informatica, Venkat worked for 12 years in Silicon Valley working for Motorola, Netscape Alliance and Sun Microsystems. He worked on early implementations of EAI in Application Servers, CDC class Mobile Platforms and Mobile Operational Management, and holds/filed patents in this space.
