GPU computing is applying power of massively parallel processors (GPUs) for general purpose computation. GPU Computing using NVIDIA's CUDA technology has been successfully deployed in a variety application domains of including molecular dynamics, finance, oil and gas exploration, medical imaging, EDA, Bio-Chemistry, Media and Entertainment and many others. NVIDIA GPUs today power some of the fastest and greenest super computers in Top500 list that enable these applications. In this talk we cover basic introduction to GPU computing, CUDA and surrounding ecosystem. We look at some of the key results and how they were achieved. We also look at current and upcoming feature roadmap for GPU Computing. This talk is intended towards anyone wanting to begin with GPU Computing / CUDA.
Speaker Profile:
Girish Bharambe has been working in CUDA Compilers for last 3 years. He has talked about CUDA and GPU Computing at multiple industry and academic forums and have helped train and develop CUDA partners in India. He obtained Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Computer Science from Pune University.
