Title: User-Friendly Performance Engineering with Java Modelling Tools
Prof. Giuliano Casale, Imperial College,London, Imperial College London
Date & Time: April 17, 2015 14:15
Venue: SIB 201 (Lecture Hall)
This tutorial talk will present Java Modelling Tools (JMT), a popular open source performance engineering framework released in 2002. JMT includes simulation tools and algorithms for performance evaluation of software systems, prediction of performance bottlenecks, evaluation of burstiness, and workload characterization. Thanks to a user-friendly GUI, JMT enables engineers to answer complex performance questions without the need of developing an expertise in performance engineering theory. The talk will introduce the JMT framework to CMG India and discuss some case studies.
Speaker Profile:
Giuliano Casale is a Lecturer in performance analysis and operations research at Imperial College London, Department of Computing. Prior to this, he was a full-time researcher at SAP Research (UK). His research interests include software performance engineering, modelling, simulation, and resource management. He is member of the IFIP WG 7.3 on Computer Performance Analysis and editor of the ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review.
