    Job Description and Expected Skills:
      - Administration, design, and development of the internet web site for the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department (http://www.cse.iitb.ac.in) at IIT Bombay (IITB), including its interface with IITB's website (http://www.iitb.ac.in).
      - Requires application of working knowledge of web programming languages, platforms, and methods including PHP, MySQL, Linux, Apache, HTML5.
      - Knowledge of content managements systems like wiki and Drupal, and related network security issues.
      - Administration of bug tracking systems like Bugzilla.
      - Performing advanced troubleshooting and problem solving individually and with teammates.​
      - Having the ability to work as part of a team, or lead a team, to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems.​
      - Demonstrated ability to meet established deadlines and commitments.​
      - Should be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
      - Background as BE or BTech in computer science, computer engineering, or information technology.

  4. Building an End to End 5G Testbed
    No. of RAP Positions: 2
    Faculty: Prof. Mythili Vutukuru
    Project Details: The project aims to develop the radio and core components of a 5G network completely from scratch, in order to bootstrap an ecosystem of production-quality telecom research in India. The testbed is being built as a collaborative effort across a few IITs and industry partners, and when complete, will be open to a wider set of users for conducting research on 5G technologies. IIT Bombay is developing the 5G packet core, which is responsible for connecting the radio network (being built at other partner institutes) to external networks. The packet core will be developed using modern network architecture paradigms such as Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN). The project provides an opportunity for developers to do exciting and impactful work at the cutting edge of networking research. Please refer to homepage of Prof. Mythili Vutukuru for more details.

  5. Feature Development, and Maintenance of the Bodhitree E-learning Web Application
    No. of RAP Positions: 3
    Faculty: Prof. Varsha Apte and Prof. Kameswari Chebrolu
    Project Details: RAs in this project will carry out Web application development using cutting-edge technologies such as Django python, Javascript, etc. Candidates should like Web coding, designing intuitive user interfaces, and should want to make a grassroots level impact on Engineering Education in India. Students can also be curious about applying advanced techniques (such as AI/ML methods) that can enhance a student's e-learning experience.

  6. Feature Development and Maintenance of SAFE (Smart Authenticated Fast Exams)

    Faculty: Prof. Kameswari Chebrolu, Prof. Prof. Bhaskaran Raman and Prof. Varsha Apte
    Project Details: We believe in transforming the conduct of exams, as well as lectures and classroom teaching, through the effective use of technology. We have developed SAFE, a smart-phone app-based system to conduct easy, cheating-free e-exams in proctored venues. SAFE has been used extensively in conducting many exams both within and outside IITB. We would like to further extend the system to support other activities that happen in classroom such as polls, question-answering etc. We would also like to tighten the security mechanisms employed by the system to prevent cheating.

    RAs in this project will carry out secure web application and smart phone app development using cutting-edge technologies such as Django python, iOS, Android etc. Candidates should have prior coding experience and enjoy coding with attention to user-interfaces/security and should be passionate about seeing the developed product, tested and trialed on field.
