Ping returning 100 percent packet loss for every possible site

I'm not sure why it is happenning but when I tried to ssh to a server, ping is working fine as you can imagine. It is happenning in LAN, IITB-Wireless and Eduroam connections in a couple of my friends laptops too. With my mobile hotspot, I can do just fine.
