In directories with a few dozen image and video files, all images under 5 MB, Ubuntu 22.04 Nautilus is showing thumbnails for only a fraction of images, other are showing the default clock thumbnail. I tried deleting files under ~/.cache/thumbnails/* and "nautilus -q". Also tried to tweak preferences to no avail.

In the settings menu(The three dash clickable gadget just beside "-" (minimize window) in the upper right corner of the window), select Preferences->Search and Preview->Thumbnails: unselect Never . Hope this resolves the issue.
