I only have windows setup in my pc and I have been trying to dual boot it with ubuntu since my first year but all in vain. Also someone in my class said that it is possible to have exactly linux based kernel and do everything using wsl2, but it was only released for windows version 2004 and mine is 1909 and I have also tried force upgrading my system but it got crashed every time I did it with different approaches. I sincerely request to also release the manual for setting up virtual lab environment for windows as I and many peers have the same problem of unavailability of ubuntu.

The clear discussion of this is being done in bugs.cse.iitb.ac.in which can be seen here : https://bugs.cse.iitb.ac.in/bugs/show_b…

The problem of windows update to version 2004 is also being discussed in microsoft website here : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/win…

In a nutshell, my problem is I can't update to windows 10 version 2004, so I don't have docker availability and also can't do dual boot. So, please suggest me a way to access virtual lab in version 1909 of windows. My laptop is hp 17-by0xxx.

Are you updating windows through a bootable pen drive or with windows update manager? I recommend a bootable Pen drive. Burn it 2004 windows iso file in Rufus and install Windows 10 2004. I did that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2imiQD… provides some methods to update windows. make sure to back up data in case you end up doing something bad

Didn't do it using pendrive, but burned live iso into system. Worked good this time. I don't know what the problem was last time. Thanks!
