COMAD's student paper track welcomes original submissions whose first author is a student (the advisor or other student or non-student collaborators may be co-authors), and once accepted which shall be presented by a student. The goal of the student paper track is to provide a forum for student members to present work in progress and to receive feedback. The student paper track will be part of the main conference's technical presentation sessions. The accepted papers will be included in the proceedings of the main conference. Papers should describe original, unpublished work in progress that demonstrates insight, creativity, and promise. Topics of interest are the same as for the main conference. Papers submitted to the main conference cannot be considered for the student sessions.
Note that having a student session for the presentation of ongoing work in no way influences the treatment of student-written papers submitted to the main conference. Rather, the student session will provide an entirely separate track emphasizing students' "work in progress" rather than completed work.
To ensure wide visibility of material published at the conference, we plan to make arrangements with ACM SIGMOD for including the proceedings of the conference in the SIGMOD on-line and CD-ROM archives. Best Student Paper Award will be presented at the conference.
