Course Review

At the end of this week (15% of the course is over!), you are expected to know:

• Section Number, TA, Lab Slot, Quiz Room
• Your computer account and how to
  • Login
  • Create directories (mkdir) and files (using vi Editor)
  • Send and read email (using Pine)
  • Simple Unix commands (ls, pwd, cd, who, ...)
  • Compile and run a Fortran Program (f90)
  • Browser (lynx) and X-windows/Netscape (if you are lucky!)
• A top level idea of two essential aspects of programming
  • Problem solving strategies
  • Coding (translating the solution to the data and control structures provided by the language).
