General Information for CS101 Teaching Assistants - Autumn 2002
Every TA of CS101 will be responsible for a batch of 20 students.
All the TA's will be associated with this batch of 20 students
throughout the semester. They will be responsible for taking their
tutorials, checking their quiz papers, evaluating their projects and
clearing their doubts regarding the quiz papers. All the TA's are requested
to periodically visit the course home-page for any new information.
Lab Sessions CS101 - Autumn 2002
All the TA's are expected to attend to one lab session per week for the CS101
course. The exact routine and timing will be conveyed to them thru this web-page.
The TA's would be required to help the CS101 students in their assignments
and Lab work. This help may be regarding

Initially, to set up the Proxy Configuration do the following :-
GOTO : Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Proxies
SELECT : Manual Proxy Configuration
CLICK ON : View
SET : HTTP Proxy as 144.16.108.236 and PORT 80
SET : No Proxy for iitb.ernet.in
- Other difficulties as and when they arise
It is required that the TA's are familiar with the UNIX/LINUX environment.
If they are not they are advised to get accustomed to it as soon as they can.
They are required to be familiar with the Shell Concepts and with both
emacs
and vim editors.
Quiz Information
There will be two quizzes in total. Each TA is required to collect the quiz papers from his respective
batch of 20 students. The TA has to check the papers and submit the marks of
all the students in his batch before the deadline. The way of submission of
marks and the deadline will be specified as and when required.
Tutorial Information
There will be tutorial on every wednesday. Two tutorial classes will be
used to held quizzes.During
this time the TA's are required to clear the doubts, regarding the quiz,
of their batch of 20 students. After this is over the students can ask
any other doubts which they might have regarding the topics which are
being taught or anything else.
