Drishtee is an organizational platform for developing IT enabled services to rural masses through a kiosk based revenue model. It offers various services includes government programs and benefits, market related information, and private information exchanges.
Drishtee is primarily a Internet connectivity provider which also provides e-governance solutions. It provides help and support to setup the rural kiosks which are essential to the model where villagers do not have to spend a day and money to visit a government office. Drishtee's aim is to cut the villager's time and costs in visiting the government offices time and again. Most of the services are provided by the local kiosk at a nominal rate of Rs. 10-20 which is less compared to the traveling costs and the day's labour.
Drishtee is based on an tier-ed franchisee and partnership model, where a rural entrepreneur sets up a kiosk with help and support from the gram panchayat. The setting up involves letter to sarpanch, training and support from Drishtee. The approximate investment to set up a kiosk is Rs. 75000. The hardware and physical set up costs are borne by the local entrepreneur(s). Web connectivity is delivered by Drishtee. 80% of the revenue goes to the local entrepreneur. 20% goes to Drishtee.
