Events in 1997

98.     On 2/5/97, the supreme court of India in what appears to be one of the strangest decisions in recent times, did not allow any arguments on the issues raised by the above judgment, the documentary evidence and on the critical question of the clearance by the CEA.

The Supreme Court deleted all but one of the answering parties including the Government of India, the CEA and Enron. i.e. neither the CEA nor MSEB and Enron are answerable in this case.

It limited the scope of judicial examination to the changing stances of the Maharashtra government

To date, there has been no hearing on the matter.  The matter is still pending before the supreme Court, limited to the aspect set out above.
