Geo Jolly

I'm a first-year M.Tech student in Computer Science at IIT Bombay, with interests in Reinforcement Learning and VLMs. I currently work on the Bharatgen project and the Maharashtra Drone Mission, under the supervision of Prof. Ganesh Ramakrishnan.

During my undergraduate studies, I was fortunate to be advised by Dr. David Lee (UCSC) on reinforcement learning for economics, and by Dr. Sergei Gleyzer (University of Alabama, CERN) and Michael Toomey (MIT) on developing Equivariant Neural Networks for modeling dark matter morphology through strong gravitational lensing. This work was part of Google Summer of Code 2023 and was partially supported by the U.S. Department of Energy. In addition, I was a core contributor to the data handling team at Oppia, an open-source education platform. Although I currently don't have enough time or energy to devote to open-source work, I look forward to returning to it in the future.

Outside academics, I enjoy traveling, swimming, cultural exploration, and classical piano music. In my free time, I watch anime, Korean and Chinese dramas, and sometimes Indian serials with my grandma :) I also play games like Genshin Impact, Fortnite, League of Legends, and Terraria. Additionally, I play Go (Weiqi/Baduk) quite a lot, mainly on Fox and OGS. I also enjoy betting all of my Fox coins on Shin Jin-seo and Kim Eun-ji. With that said, If you’d like to play a game or learn, feel free to ping me!

I’m a huge fan of The 1975 and love movies by Stephen Chow. I also enjoy designing websites for myself. Additionally, I’m one of the current admins/maintainers of the popular Tsumego Hero server, well-known among Go players for its extensive collection of tsumegos.

Here are some of my works (GitHub) which you may or may not find interesting:

  1. Replicating alphago
  2. Ganetic
  3. Lumine
  4. Tsumego DB
