Mayur is a 2nd-year M.Tech CSE student. Currently, he is jointly working with Rakesh on dense video captioning and alignment. He is co-advised by Ganesh Ramakrishnan and Preethi. His general research interests include speech processing, NLP and computer vision. In his free time, he likes reading books, watching YouTube videos, playing music and the guitar.

Minali is a 3rd year M.Tech. CSE student. She is working on accent adaptation for speech recognition. Her general research interests include topics related to speech processing and deep learning. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities like swimming and playing squash.

Arijit is a 2nd-year M.Tech CSE student. Currently, he is working on building question answer pairs to evaluate an education-based application in Hindi. He is jointly supervised by Pushpak Bhattacharyya and Preethi. His general research interests are in the areas of deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision and natural language processing. When he's not at work, Arijit enjoys watching movies and playing DotA.

Digvijay is a 2nd-year M.Tech. CSE student. He's working jointly with Pankaj on audio event detection and video summarization. He is jointly supervised by Ganesh Ramakrishnan and Preethi. His general research interests are in the areas of speech recognition and deep learning. In his spare time, he enjoys playing badminton or snooker and watching anime.

Pankaj is a 2nd year M.Tech. CSE student. He's working jointly with Digvijay on audio event detection and video summarization. He is jointly supervised by Ganesh Ramakrishnan and Preethi. His general research interests include machine learning, specifically deep learning for language understanding and vision. He enjoys reading fiction novels and playing snooker in his spare time.

Adarsh is a 2nd-year M.Tech CSE student. Currently, he is working on spoken machine translation. His general research interests are in the areas of deep learning and speech recognition. In his spare time, Adarsh likes playing hockey and watching Spanish football league La Liga.

Abhilash is a 2nd year M.Tech CSE student. For his MTP, he is working on transcribing lectures in Indian languages and tackling specific computational challenges associated with this domain (including code switching). His general research interests include speech recognition, deep learning and machine learning. In his spare time, Abhilash likes to play the keyboard, learn guitar and listen to western classical music. He also enjoys playing chess and traveling.

Abhinav is a 2nd year M.Tech CSE student. At CSALT, as part of his MTP, he works on adapting pronunciation and language models for specific dialects of a language. Whenever he gets time off, Abhinav likes to listen to EDM (the likes of Martin Garrix and David Guetta) and engage in some FPS (First Person Shooting) games.

Himanshu is a 2nd year M.Tech CSE student. He works on building acoustic models for dialectal speech in low resource settings for his MTP. His general research interests are in the areas of speech recognition and deep learning. Apart from work, Himanshu enjoys adventure sports, playing chess and watching movies.

Sanket is a 2nd year MTech CSE student. He works on speech-to-speech translation for his MTP, under the joint supervision of Pushpak Bhattacharyya and Preethi. His general research interests include speech recognition, machine translation and machine learning in general. His hobbies include writing English poems and articles. Whenever he finds time, he also likes volunteering for NGOs.

Karan is a final year DD student in the EE program. At CSALT, he is working on code-switched speech recognition and voice conversion. He is interested in deep learning applied to speech, digital signal processing and probability theory. In his spare time, he enjoys running (long distance), playing table tennis and reading non-fiction books.

Ishan is a final year student in the B.Tech. CSE program. At CSALT, he is working on language modeling for low-resource languages and code-switched text. He is interested in deep learning, NLP and also wishes to explore reinforcement learning. In his spare time, he plays lawn tennis and enjoys reading fiction, particularly English and Russian classics.

Nitish is a final year student in the B.Tech. CSE program. At CSALT, he is working on question generation in low resource settings. Kartik is a final year B.Tech. CSE student. He is jointly advised by Prof. Sunita Sarawagi and Preethi. For his BTP, he's working on accented speech recognition using feature adaptation. Syamantak is a final year B.Tech. CSE student. At CSALT, he is doing an RnD project on learning better embeddings for code-switched text. His general research interests are in statistical models for computer vision, NLP and speech processing. His hobbies include playing squash, reading books and watching movies.

Yash is a final year B.Tech. CSE student. He is exploring hybrid models for language modeling and active learning for speech at CSALT. More generally, he is interested in deep learning applied to NLP and vision. Vishwajeet is a 4th year student in the B.Tech. CSE program. At CSALT, he is working (along with Chitwan) on learning shared representations from audio and video. Chitwan is a 4th year student in the B.Tech. CSE program. At CSALT, he is working (along with Vishwajeet) on learning shared representations from audio and video. Nihal is a 4th year student in the B.Tech. CE program. He is working on leveraging social media text for conversational language models. His general research interests include NLP and deep learning. Bhavesh worked on building end-to-end speech-to-text translation models. His general research interests include NLP, computer architecture and robotics. Bhavesh was a member of the Web and Coding Club, 2016-17. In his free time, he enjoys reading non-fiction, playing chess and eating out at Subway.

Tanuj worked (along with Bhavesh) on end-to-end spoken translation. His general research interests include topics in AI, ML and databases. In his spare time, Tanuj enjoys watching movies (primarly from the twentieth century), watching sports and playing lawn tennis.

Kalpesh, as part of his BTP, worked on neural language models and constraint-driven learning. His general research interests include natural language processing, computer graphics and digital circuits. In his spare time, he likes cycling, star gazing, collecting Rubiks puzzles and building developer communities. He led the Web and Coding Club at IIT Bombay in 2016-17. He maintains a GitHub page and has a StackOverflow profile.

Saurabh was in the B.Tech CSE program. At CSALT, he has dabbled with end-to-end ASR systems and is currently doing an RnD project on the generation and detection of code-switching in speech. His broad research interests are primarily in natural language processing and deep learning. He is also interested in Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods for sampling in high dimensional spaces. During his spare time, he likes to play chess or go on an outing.

Tanmay was in the B.Tech CSE program. For his BTP, he is working on code-switching in speech. More generally, his interests are in natural language processing and adversarial game modeling. In his free time, Tanmay plays football and basketball and he also enjoys writing poetry.

Jayanth was in the B.Tech CSE program. He is exploring end-to-end ASR systems for Indian languages as part of an RnD project. His general research interests include deep learning and anything related to artificial intelligence. In his spare time, Jayanth likes to play/analyze cricket matches and he also enjoys listening to music and singing.

Suman was in the B.Tech CSE program. For his BTP, he is working on crowdsourcing for speech transcriptions in Indian languages under the joint supervision of Kameswari Chebrolu and Preethi. His broader research interests include deep learning and web security. In his spare time, he likes to play football, basketball and FPS games.

Rajat was in the B.Tech CSE program. For his BTP, along with Suman, he is working on crowdsourcing for speech transcriptions in Indian languages. His other research interests include natural language processing, network security and databases. During his spare time, Rajat enjoys movies, sports and competitive programming.

Mohit was in the B.Tech CSE program. As part of his BTP, he is currently working on improving non-native accent identification from speech.
