We give below a list of various prominent hotels in Chennai, along with their distances from the IIT campus. For those who wish to arrange your accomodation in one of these hotels, we advise you to make the bookings early, since winter is a particularly good season for tourism in and around Chennai. The booking can be carried out online, directly from the hotel's website. The choice of hotel is solely yours and we do not advocate any preferences. For students and student authors, a limited number of hostel rooms will be provided within IIT Madras campus.

Important points:

• The rates given here are only indicative and are specified for single occupancy rooms. Double occupancy rooms cost extra Rs. 1500 on an average. The rates are excluding the taxes which are, as of now, 12.5 %.
• Rooms with lowest cost in every hotel do not usually support food or wifi access. Some hotels may provide complementary break fast and half an hour internet access.
• Add drop facility to the airport or the institute will be charged separately. Executive rooms (high priced ones) support single time airport add drop facility.
• Prices are typically revised around August – September.
