Projects

Being only a second year UG student, I have not had much exposure to projects yet. I hope to do many projects over the years

Scroll down to see some of the projects I have undertaken till now

WiDS Project

I undertook the WiDS project in data-driven astronomy by the analytics club of IIT Bombay. e analysed pulsar data and searched for efficient methods of pulsar identification. This was followed by the use SQL to store and extract data efficiently. Lastly, used machine learning techniques for galaxy redshift calculation and galaxy shape classification. SOS - Celestial Mechanics

This project was done in the early summer of 2022, with the help of the MnP club at IIT Bombay. I wrote a report on orbits of space probes, along with various maneuvers that they could perform. This was followed by a simulation of a gravitational system which demonstrated how what I had learnt could be applied. The simulations were even animated on blender. I was mentored by Ammar Barbhaiwala in this project. Click on the image for the report.

KSP - Stellar flares

This project was undertaken in the late summer of 2022, with the help of Krittika-the astronomy club of IIT Bombay. We worked on on the data of XSM, a state-of-the art solar x-ray payload aboard Chandrayan 2. We analysed the light curve of more than a 2 year period and tried to implement an algorithm for solar flare detection and classification. A challenging task indeed. I was mentored by Ann and Devansh Jain in this project. The report is in progress for this project.
