The Code

The screen was full of empty space,
no code nor comment could be seen,
his thoughts triggering at sluggish pace,
the mind was miles from the machine.

To show how much he did love her,
he just had to create the perfect app!
deep in this thought the programmer,
decided to take a small power nap.

Suddenly he jumped up wide awake,
he had the perfect solution in mind,
in her name a kernel he'd make,
that'd proclaim his love before all mankind.

Setting out on this arduous task,
using every ounce of his intelligence,
shedding the lazy dreamy mask,
he set about it with providence.

Days and nights he worked on end,
carefully looking into every recursion,
many hours on the internet he would spend,
to the point of strenuous exertion.

When finally the code was done,
he proudly pumped his fist in air,
wanting her to be the first one,
to get what he'd made with such care.

He got her email within an hour,
shockingly so full of hatered,
Too late to realize that instead of her,
he'd named it after his ex instead!
