THE ULTIMATE PROGRAMMING CONTEST!

By : Akshat Malu

Let me tell you an extraordinary tale,
every computer scientist will like it without fail!

There came a time,
when the computers reached their prime.
I don't intend any pun,
when I say that their 'artificial' intelligence seemed powerful than even our natural one.

With great power, came greater responsibilities.
But they weren't wise enough to exploit the right opportunities.
Their egos clashed, that led to a fight.
A programming contest was to decide who was right!

The world's best programmers lined up against the fastest machines.
This wasn't going to be a leisure activity, by any means.
The computers were quick, the programmers knew.
But theirs was the wit, that won't miss a cue!

Humans were but humans, the computers were divine;
They wrote a recursive code, within no time!
The programmers though struggled against time to complete...
But ultimately they built a code that was worthy to compete!

The test cases were no less than a raging bull.
The iterations were aplenty, but the memory was never full.
The recursion, on the other hand, triggered an infinite chain.
The stack soon overflowed, exploding into the "computer's brain".

Even though it was a tough clash, the humans did survive.
But how long, this way, can we strive?
We need to understand that blindly empowering the machines should not be our goal;
That we need measures to keep the machines always under control!
