Some random facts about me :

• I was born in Mumbai. I did my initial schooling from Madurai, Cochin and Port Blair. And after that, a major part of my school life was spent in the premises of KV Colaba, Mumbai. Being there was an experience that I will always cherish. I'm proud of my association with KV.

• I did my BE in CSE from RAIT, New Bombay. The transition from school life to college routine was difficult, but fun. The way these grad colleges transform you from a serious & obedient student to a bunking defaulter is amazing :) Thanks to my college-mates, the four years spent in lecture halls and labs weren't that dull.

• My association with IITB started with my Undergraduate thesis work. I did my final year project along with Santosh and Jisha under the guidance of Prof. Uday Khedker. in the area of optimizing compliers.

• After my BE, I joined Prof. Uday Khedker as a Research Assistant along with Santosh. During the one year of my fellowship, I explored and experimented with GCC, attented and tutored some workshops, and did some major timepass with Neeraj & Santosh.

• In 2008, I joined University of Rochester for my PhD in CS, but came back within a month for reasons ranging from inability to cope up with the harsh climate to feeling extremely homesick :D However, the short trip was a great experience. Absolutely loved the university campus, interacted with some amazing professors, talked to many students, ate pork accidently :P, cringed in the extreme cold weather, and finally took a flight back home!

• Took a chance, took GATE 2009, and somehow managed to make it into IIT Bombay. Coming back to IITB after all this is like homecoming. I am working as a Research Assistant in the GCC Resource Center, and hopefully will contribute my bit towards its evolvement.

• A special mention of my special friends - Santosh, Ravi, Neeraj, Umesh, Vishal, Bharat, Prashal, Aniket, Ishita... they've corrected me whenever I erred, listened patiently to my constant cribs, and cheered me up when I was low. They define the term 'Friendship' for me. Also, my current roomies Akshar, Subbo, and Salil form my current friend circle in IITB. And yeah, my luck with finding the best roomies continues. They are definitely the best roomies one can ever find :D

• Also, my family - my parents, my sisters, my brother-in-laws, my niece, nephews - I love them a lot :)
