Name of organization:  Nimbkar Agricultural Research Institute (NARI)

NARI is a non-profit organization and an NGO working in rural India. It develops technologies which provide sustainable and holistic development for rural areas. The major work is in producing better seed for the farmers and develops whole plant approach for sustainable development. Research and Development work has been mostly in solar and biomass energy and recently in sustainable transportation. They are presently looking for excellent candidates for R&D positions and volunteers for expanding their program.

Cost of gasifier: The cost of the unit is Rs. 13, 00,000/-

Benefits:

  • It is a multifuel gasifier. It can run on sugarcane leaves, Bajra husk, safflower    residues, sweet sorghum stalks and bagasse, sugarcane bagasse, etc.

  • About 20-24% of the fuel is converted into char, which is a value added item

  • Zero waste water system. Hot gas cleaning.

  • PLC controlled unit. Only two operators per shift are required.
