About Us

STUDe Club is a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) group at IIT Bombay with the primary objective of promoting ‘Healthy practices to study effectively’. The club aspires to inculcate positive attitudes and values amongst the students and also assist them in making the best of their stay at IITB (and hopefully elsewhere in the future). Through this forum, the club aims to offer a conducive environment, where students can stay focused on their respective goals in life. It provides the required ambiance where students feel motivated and encouraged. In their modest attempts in this direction, the club conducts monthly sessions, focused on adapting to new ways of learning, qualities of highly effective people, role of goal, etc. It aims to highlight the correlation of a variety of factors ranging from healthy attitudes, techniques, strategies, habits, motivation, and also health-related issues such as sitting postures, physical exercises, mind control exercises, healthy diet and so on. The emphasis of all these is to study in a healthier and effective manner. The club complements these seminars with technical workshops conducted each semester aimed at equipping the students with technical skills that is of great value to them in IIT and beyond. STUDe Club shares a common line of thought with Institute Student Mentor Programme (ISMP) viz., ‘to inculcate the right attitude right from the beginning’.

So far the club’s focus has been primarily on freshers, as they require adjusting to a very new environment, lifestyle and a higher level of academics. Moreover, a large majority are living such an independent life, away from home, for the very first time. As is evident from the student feedback, the club has thus been quite successful in helping them improve their academic performance.
