Mini Workshop on GCC Internals
About the workshop |
We plan to conduct a mini
workshop on GCC on Sat. 19th January 2008. This workshop will provide
the basic conceptual and practical know how of the architecture,
deployment, and enhancement of GCC framework. The goal is to take the
participants to a threshold from where they can study GCC internals
on their own without much help from others. This workshop is a much
smaller version of the earlier workshop
on GCC Internals that we had conducted.
At the end of this workshop, the participants should be able to:
Build a compiler from the GCC source
Understand how to build a cross compiler for a given architecture
Understand the various intermediate representations of program that GCC generated compiler can dump
Understand the retargetability framework of GCC (in particular, the machine descriptions of GCC)
Detailed handouts that contain more information will be provided depending on the number of participants.
Date, Venue, and Contact for Registration |
The
workshop will be held in CSE Seminar Hall on Saturday 19 Jan 2008.
The registration
is free but please send a mail to Nisha
(nisha@cse.iitb.ac.in)
so that we can arrange for the correct number of refreshments :-)
This is the
final list of participants.

Conclusion |
At the moment, no lab session is planned. A separate lab session will be planned for those who are interested in a hands-on experience on the subsequent Saturday. If you are interested in this session, we suggest that you try to do some experimentation on your own during the week so that the lab session can address your needs directly.
