Computer
Vision, Graphics and Image Processing are actively pursued
areas of research and there exists a large community exploring various aspects of these areas. It was essential to have a common platform where the entire
community could meet and share ideas. Such a medium would provide
impetus to workers in the
field to further research as well as give directions to R&D
activities all over the world. The Indian Conference on Computer Vision,
Graphics and Image Processing is an international forum to bring the researchers and
practitioners of these allied areas together under one umbrella.

NCVGIP (earlier WCVGIP, and now NCVPRIPG) is a national-level workshop that aims to provide a forum for peer interaction
among the academicia, industry, research labs, and researchers in the
areas
of Computer Vision, Image Processing, Computer Graphics and Pattern
Recognition, in India. IUPRAI, the Indian chapter of IAPR, is the
co-ordinating association.
