Call for Workshop Proposals

The COMAD 2009 Organization invites workshop proposals in the broad area of data management. The Workshops will be held on December 9, 2009 at the International School of Information Management (ISiM), University of Mysore, Mysore, India. The objective of organizing the workshops is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas and vibrant discussions on various aspects of data management. We invite workshop proposals seeking to explore high-impact research areas in data management.



Organization

The organizers of a workshop will be in charge of publicizing the workshop, soliciting papers, constituting the program committee, and putting together the workshop program. Workshops may span an entire day or half a day. The workshop organizers should ensure that at least one author of each accepted paper attends the workshop. Any ideas that would aid in infusing academic vibrancy into the workshop proceedings are welcome in the proposal.

  • Format of the Proposals

    The proposal should include the following.

  • Workshop title
  • Names, affiliations and complete contact details of the organizers
  • Span of the workshop (half-day or full-day)
  • An abstract of the topic of the workshop (200 words)
  • A brief overview of the relevance of the workshop to the theme of COMAD 2009 and how it will contribute to the field of data management (500 words)
  • A brief overview as to the intended audience for the workshop (200 words)
  • A tentative (or intended) list of program committee members

  • The proposals may be submitted by email to the Workshop Chair of COMAD 2009 (see below).



    Proceedings

    The proceedings of all workshops co-located with COMAD 2009 will be published online. If the individual workshop organizers wish to publish their proceedings as a printed volume, they are welcome to make separate arrangements for the same.
