Introduction
Efforts of the Azim Premji Foundation revolve around creating effective and
scalable models that significantly improve the quality of learning in the school
and ensure satisfactory ownership by the community in the management of the school.
Azim Premji Foundation dedicates itself to the cause of Universalization of Elementary
Education in India.
 

 

Computer Aided Learning

  • Curricular content that is child centric, interactive and playful with assessment tools that are fun
  • Engagement and education of teachers to use interactive content as an effective supplement for classroom teaching
  • Positive impact on children with specific learning disabilities: language (oral), communication motivation and social aspects
  • Confidence building and IT awareness among children

     

The areas chosen for these programmes are based on the following criteria:

  • High number of out-of-school children
  • Economic backwardness of the geography
  • High number of girl children out of school
  • Poor ratio of Teachers to Children
  • Difficulty in access to schools
  • Poor learning levels

APF provides certain education CDS for better learning of  children.

                
 

What does the CD contain?
The CD will typically contain:
1. The Main Story:    This part of the CD will focus on covering all the academic aspects as outlined in the Scope Definition submitted by the Foundation. This part of the CD is expected to cover nearly 30 minutes of run-time of the CD.
2. Teachers Resource Bag:     Online Teachers Resource Bag to provide additional ready reference material to equip teachers in handling some difficult questions that may be asked by children. This section of the CD will need about 5 minutes of run-time of the CD.
3. Beyond the Curriculum Activities: This section is designed to provide children, an opportunity to learn more about the topic of the CD than is expected from a curriculum/ textbook point of view. This section of the CD will need about 5 minutes of run-time of the CD.
4. User manual: A document that contains guidelines to users on how to use the CD, and snapshots of
important screens to help the user understand the process.
5. Non-PC activities for the topic: Offline Activity Book that provides ideas to teachers in order help children understand the topic better without the use of a PC.
